NACOC arrests 13 in major drug raid at Akuapem Akropong

-

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested 13 suspects in a major anti-drug operation at Akuapem Akropong in the Eastern Region.

The dawn swoop, which targeted drinking spots and suspected drug dens, forms part of NACOC’s nationwide campaign to combat the sale and use of illicit drugs in communities.

During the raid, officers seized quantities of cannabis, hashish, ecstasy tablets, and a potent cannabis strain known as “Collos.”

The team also retrieved synthetic opioids such as Tramadol and cannabis-infused beverages, including bitters and locally brewed sobolo.

According to NACOC, all seized items have been sent for forensic examination to support ongoing investigations.

The 13 suspects are currently in custody and will be processed for court after screening.

NACOC officials say the operation signals the beginning of a sustained crackdown on drug-related activities in the Akuapem enclave and other parts of the country. They further appealed to the public to assist by reporting suspicious drug dealings to security agencies.
