The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has denied any involvement in an alleged petition to remove President John Dramani Mahama from office.
In a statement signed by the party’s Chairperson and Leader, Patrick Nelson Sogbodjor, the CPP said it had not approved or endorsed any petition, and any effort to associate the party with such an action is “unfounded and misleading.”
According to the statement, the party’s former 2024 presidential running mate, Wayoe Gjanamanti, made claims about submitting a petition to Parliament without the knowledge or approval of the CPP’s Central Committee.

The leadership, therefore, urged the public to disregard any reports linking the CPP to the said petition, reiterating its unwavering commitment to the party’s core principles and values.
