15 women in Asutifi districts receive start-up tools to begin bead and soap-making business

-

Fifteen women from the Asutifi North and South Districts in the Ahafo Region have received start-up tools and materials from ActionAid Ghana and the Coalition for Maternal Health and Citizens Empowerment (CMCE) to begin bead and soap-making businesses.

The beneficiaries, drawn from communities such as Bogyampa, Donkorkrom, Ohiatua, and Apenamadi, were presented with the items at a brief ceremony held in Kenyasi.

Programs Manager for ActionAid in Ahafo and Bono, Kwame Afram Denkyi, told Adom News that the initiative aims to tackle the growing unemployment rate among women in the two districts.

He explained that the women had undergone training in beadwork and soap-making, and the tools would help them establish sustainable livelihoods.

Mr. Denkyi emphasized that empowering women through such initiatives contributes to community development and economic independence.

Some beneficiaries and local leaders expressed gratitude to the organizations, promising to make good use of the materials to improve their living standards.
