Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is set to officially begin his nationwide campaign on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, as part of efforts to secure his election as the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to a statement signed by Communications Director for the Bawumia Campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the aspirant will embark on a grassroots-focused tour covering all 276 constituencies across Ghana.
The tour will provide an opportunity for Dr. Bawumia to engage directly with polling station executives, constituency officers, former MPs, MMDCEs, and party elders to discuss his vision and strengthen party unity ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The campaign team also emphasized the need for issue-based and civil discourse, cautioning supporters against insults and personal attacks during the primaries.
“We must refrain from any form of derogatory remarks or personal attacks. Our focus must remain on promoting Dr. Bawumia’s vision, proven track record, and policy propositions,” the statement said.
The team reiterated its belief in Dr. Bawumia’s qualifications and transformative ideas, urging all party communicators to uphold the dignity of the NPP and maintain unity as the party prepares for the upcoming flagbearer contest.
