
Former Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has congratulated the Black Stars following their qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The four-time African champions sealed their place at next year’s global showpiece with a crucial victory on Sunday night at the Accra Sports Stadium, finishing top of Group I with 25 points.
In a video message shared after the match, Dr. Bawumia celebrated the team’s achievement and lauded their determination in returning Ghana to the biggest stage in world football.

After bowing out at the group stage of the 2022 edition in Qatar, Otto Addo’s men will be aiming for a deeper run when the tournament kicks off next year.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, marking Ghana’s fifth appearance at the competition after campaigns in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022.
