Adom Multimedia Group Limited’s Upper East Regional Correspondent, Halidu Dasmani, has been honoured as the Best Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Journalist at the 4th Upper East Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards 2025.
The award celebrates Dasmani’s commitment to impactful storytelling and his efforts in spotlighting health challenges within local communities.
His award-winning report exposed the deplorable state of the Kpatia Health Centre’s maternity ward, a story that spurred action and led to the construction of a new facility to improve maternal and child healthcare delivery.
The ceremony, supported by WaterAid under the SHARE Project, recognized outstanding contributions to journalism in the region. Dasmani’s work stood out for its depth, sensitivity, and the tangible change it inspired.
“Covering SRHR topics isn’t just about reporting news—it’s about giving voice to the vulnerable and informing communities about rights that can transform lives,” Dasmani remarked after receiving the award.
His achievement further cements Adom TV’s reputation for producing socially responsible and transformative journalism that drives development and amplifies community voices.
