The Black Princesses have left for Tunisia to face the Tunisian U-20 Women’s national team in the first leg of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
Before the departure of the team, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, visited their camp in Accra to boost the morale of the players ahead of the game.
Mr Okraku praised the team’s consistency and dominance on the continent, noting that the Princesses remain the nation’s most reliable team, having qualified for every edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s Cup.
“This team has been the most consistent in Ghana, representing the country at the World Cup tournament for the past seven editions, unlike any of our national teams. You’ve always been at the World Cup and showcased your quality,” he said.
The Black Princesses will face Tunisia in the first leg on Saturday, 20 September, at the Stade Taïeb Mhiri in Sfax.
Ghana is aiming to secure its eighth consecutive appearance at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Poland.
