Government has reiterated its commitment to pursuing the investigative work of the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) initiative while safeguarding the rights of suspects.
Minister of State for Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, made this known on Joy FM’s Top Story on Tuesday, September 16.
Acknowledging public concerns over corruption allegations, Mr Kwakye Ofosu stressed that all investigations under ORAL will be guided by due process.
“Government is very serious about all that. As the President indicated during his media interaction, there’s a need to follow due process so that, in a bid to fight corruption, we also do not abuse the rights of citizens. It is important as a government, we are minded to respect that, and that is precisely what we are doing,” he said.
He explained that while accountability remains a priority, government officials are determined not to subject suspects to unfair treatment in the name of fighting corruption.
According to previous public statements, ORAL has already questioned dozens of individuals in connection with alleged financial misconduct.
In May 2025, Mr Kwakye Ofosu revealed that 65 individuals had been interrogated in relation to more than 200 cases flagged under the initiative.
He further noted that government remains open to public suggestions as the Attorney General prosecutes these cases, assuring that transparency and community input will guide the process.
