I was advised to choose wealth and luxury over my husband – Piesie Esther

Gospel artiste Piesie Esther has revealed how wrong advice nearly cost her a lifelong blessing in marriage.

Speaking on Okay FM while promoting her latest single, Nyame Ye, the award-winning musician recounted how someone close to her discouraged her from marrying her husband, Enoch Aseidu.

At the time, she had gained fame with her hit song Me Nte Ase and had begun mingling with influential people. According to her, the individual believed she deserved “someone of a higher status.”

“The person took me to a restaurant and advised me not to marry him. They said since I had become popular and was meeting big personalities, I should aim higher. They told me I would definitely meet someone rich, with cars and houses, who could even gift me a car,” she narrated.

She added that the person even reminded her of her humble beginnings, suggesting that she use her fame to marry into wealth for her family’s benefit.

“At that point, I was very confused. I thought deeply about it because the person made me feel like it was my only chance to secure a better life for my family,” she said.

Torn by the counsel, Piesie turned to her spiritual father, who has since passed away. Through prayer and divine revelation, she became convinced that Enoch Aseidu was the man destined for her.

She chose to go ahead with the marriage, a decision she said she has never regretted. Piesie described her husband as calm, God-fearing, and peaceful, adding that as the son of a Pentecost pastor, he has been her unwavering support in both marriage and ministry.

“Looking back, I realize how much I would have lost if I had listened to that advice. My husband has given me nothing but peace, support, and love,” she expressed with gratitude.

Sharing her experience as a lesson, the gospel star cautioned against blindly following others’ opinions, stressing that such advice can sometimes cause people to miss out on the blessings God has planned for them.
