Multiple trapped in road accident near Yamoransa

An accident near Yamoransa on the Cape Coast–Accra highway in the Central Region has left several people trapped, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) reported on Monday, September 15.

In a brief Facebook update, the GNFS stated that a fire rescue team from its Regional Headquarters in Cape Coast has been dispatched to the scene and is currently carrying out rescue operations.

The number of vehicles involved, as well as any injuries or fatalities, has not yet been confirmed.

Emergency services have urged motorists to avoid the area if possible, warning that traffic is likely to be heavily affected while rescue efforts continue.

The cause of the accident remains unknown.
