Ghana international Jordan Ayew found the net as Leicester City salvaged a point in a 2-2 draw against Oxford United on Saturday in the English Championship at the Kassam Stadium.
The 32-year-old striker opened Leicester’s account in the 13th minute, cancelling out Will Lankshear’s early opener for the hosts.
Leicester, however, were reduced to ten men midway through the first half when Aaron Ramsey received a red card.
Oxford capitalized on the numerical advantage, regaining the lead through a Boubakary Soumaré own goal before the interval.
Undeterred, Leicester staged a determined comeback. Ayew’s relentless running created space, allowing Fatawu Issahaku to set up Ricardo Pereira, who converted the equaliser in the 55th minute.
Ayew’s work rate throughout the match was impressive, linking play and energizing Leicester’s travelling supporters, while Fatawu showcased 70 minutes of dynamic wing play.
The Ghanaian duo will aim to continue their fine form when Leicester City host Coventry City at the King Power Stadium on September 20.
