Ghanaian singer Gyakie has highlighted the importance of strong collaborations and effective management in the music industry, stressing that success requires more than just talent.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, the “Forever” hitmaker said music can be financially rewarding, but only when artists surround themselves with people who understand the business side of the craft.
Gyakie noted that while many artists are equally talented, some fail to profit from their work due to a lack of proper support systems.
“When I look back at the time I was in school and not focused on music—probably working a 9-5 job or running my own business—I notice some differences. For me, music is a fulfilling path. There is money to be made in music, but you won’t see the profits unless you’re working with the right people.
“It’s important to be surrounded by individuals who have extensive knowledge of the business side of the music industry. Some artists create great work but don’t see the financial rewards because their management isn’t solid. A strong management team is essential,” she explained.
