I’m most marketed, prepared and winnable candidate among the others – Bawumia to NPP

Bawumia vows constituency-Based Budget framework if elected President

New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has appealed to party delegates to retain him as flagbearer, arguing that consistency in candidate selection has historically delivered electoral victories in Ghana.

Addressing delegates at Adansi Asokwa in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, September 10, Dr. Bawumia cited precedents from both the NPP and the NDC to back his claim.

“In 1996, former President John Agyekum Kufuor polled 39% but was retained in 2000, when he won. The late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills contested three times before winning in 2008. Former President Akufo-Addo also won after his third attempt, while President Mahama returned after losing twice to secure victory in 2024,” he explained.

He stressed that no first-time presidential candidate has won an election under the Fourth Republic, insisting that the NPP stands a stronger chance in 2028 if it rallies behind him.

“The trend shows that keeping faith with a candidate pays off. I am the most marketed, most prepared, and most unifying candidate. On January 31, 2026, I urge you to vote for me to secure consistency and return the NPP swiftly to Jubilee House,” he urged delegates.
