Hearts of Oak’s goalkeeper trainer, Issah Najahu, has expressed confidence in the team’s readiness for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians wrapped up their pre-season preparations with a 1-0 victory over city rivals Great Olympics in the 2025 Democracy Cup at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium last week.
Reflecting on the team’s preparations, Najahu insisted that Hearts have tested themselves against strong opposition and are fully equipped for the season ahead.
“Once the league starts next week, I believe we are very ready. As we saw in the Top Four, we tested ourselves in high-profile games,” Najahu said after the Democracy Cup clash.
“Top Four is a high-profile tournament, and before the league kicks off, you need to face quality opposition. We did that in the Top Four and today we concluded preparations with the Olympics, who we regard more as a Premier Division side than a Division One club.
“I think we are very much ready for the season,” he added.
Hearts of Oak will begin their league campaign with a home fixture against debutants Hohoe United at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, September 12.
