The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has officially invited President John Dramani Mahama to participate in the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the funeral will take place at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi from September 15 to 18, 2025.
The invitation was personally delivered to President Mahama in Accra by a high-powered delegation led by the Amoamanhene, Nana Agyenim Boateng I.
In response, President Mahama expressed his deepest condolences to the Asantehene and the entire Ashanti Kingdom, describing the passing of Nana Konadu Yiadom III as a profound loss.
He also assured the delegation that he would attend the ceremony to honour the memory of the late Queen Mother.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who was 98, passed away on August 7, 2025.
