Chelsea complete signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United

Chelsea have confirmed the capture of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United in a deal valued at £40 million.

The 21-year-old winger was in attendance at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as the Blues sealed a 2-0 victory over Fulham, before putting pen to paper on a long-term contract that ties him to the club until 2032.

Speaking after his unveiling, Garnacho described the move as a milestone moment in his career.

“It’s an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club. I can’t wait to get started,” Garnacho said.

“I watched the Club World Cup, and to join the world champions is special – we’re the best team in the world.

“It’s amazing to be here and I’m very happy,” he added.

Garnacho enjoyed a breakthrough spell at United last season, making 58 appearances across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists.

In total, he registered 48 goal contributions in 144 outings for the Red Devils before making the switch to west London.
