Fatawu Issahaku scores again as Leicester City down Birmingham

Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku continued his fine form on Friday night, finding the net as Leicester City secured a 2-0 victory over Birmingham at the King Power Stadium.

Issahaku, full of confidence after last week’s spectacular strike against Charlton, opened the scoring with a curling effort in the first half.

The 20-year-old winger latched onto a pass from youngster Louis Page before firing past the Birmingham goalkeeper to give the Foxes an early lead.

Leicester controlled much of the contest and eventually sealed the win in the 88th minute, when Ricardo Pereira struck to make it 2-0 and end Birmingham’s unbeaten run.

Issahaku, who has now scored in back-to-back Championship matches, was withdrawn late in the game after 87 minutes, raising concerns of a possible injury. The club is expected to assess him in the coming days.

After full time, Fatawu Issahaku was named the Player of the Match.

The Ghana forward will be hoping to extend his strong start to the season when Leicester travel to face Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium after the international break.
