Crystal Palace target Ghana’s Mohammed Salisu in late loan move

Mohammed Salisu

Ghana international Mohammed Salisu has emerged as a loan target for English Premier League side Crystal Palace ahead of the transfer deadline.

The 26-year-old centre-back, who joined AS Monaco from Southampton in 2023, endured limited game time last season and is yet to feature in the ongoing 2025/26 campaign.

Palace have reportedly opened talks with the Ligue 1 outfit as they seek to strengthen their defence, particularly with England defender Marc Guéhi strongly linked with a move to Liverpool before the window shuts on Monday, October 1.

Salisu is also attracting interest from Greek giants Olympiakos, though no agreement has been reached, with the player said to be weighing his options.

For now, the former Southampton defender is focused on international duty, having been named in Ghana’s 24-man squad for next month’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars will face Chad on September 4 before hosting Mali four days later, with Salisu expected to join camp in Accra on September 1.
