Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has appealed to the rank and file of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retain him as the party’s Presidential candidate for the 2028 elections, urging collective action to reclaim power and serve the nation with impactful policies.
He made the appeal while addressing thousands of NPP supporters and Ghanaians in Accra, following the submission of his nomination forms to contest the NPP flagbearership.
“I’ve had the privilege of serving as Vice President and supporting the President and Government in our last administration with ideas that have significantly impacted the lives of millions of our people. This is what the streets refer to as being rich in ideas,” he said.
Dr. Bawumia highlighted that, if elected President, he has a wealth of transformational ideas ready for implementation. He cited numerous interventions championed during his tenure as Vice President that have delivered tangible results:

Dr. Bawumia emphasized that he demonstrates his strength through results, not noise, insults, or boasting about wealth. He added that his widespread recognition and experience as Vice President make him “the most prepared person for the NPP’s quest for the 2028 election and governance in 2029.”
