Former Asante Kotoko forward Charles Taylor has called on the club to step up their preparations ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
Kotoko have been drawn against Nigerian side Kwara United in the first round of the preliminary stage next month.
Taylor, speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports Nite, expressed concern about the team’s readiness after failing to win a single game in the recently concluded 2025 GHALCA Top 4 tournament.
“I don’t see any seriousness in Asante Kotoko’s preparation towards the CAF Confederation Cup campaign,” he cautioned.
The first leg will be played between September 19 and 21, 2025, with the return fixture scheduled for September 26 to 28 in Nigeria.
Should Kotoko progress, they will face Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in the second preliminary round.
In the meantime, the Porcupine Warriors will take on Bibiani GoldStars in the Champion of Champions match on Sunday, August 31, at DUNs Park.
