Asante Kotoko complete signing of Musa Hamzata from Accra Lions

Asante Kotoko have strengthened their squad with the signing of defender Musa Hamzata ahead of the upcoming football season.

The 22-year-old joins the Porcupine Warriors from Accra Lions, where he featured in nearly 50 Ghana Premier League matches, contributing three goals and two assists.

The young defender has signed a three-year deal after successfully completing his medical.

Speaking to Kotoko media, Hamzata expressed his excitement about the move.

“This is a huge step for me, and I’m grateful for the chance to wear the Kotoko shirt,” he said.

“I know the expectations here are very high, but I’m ready for that challenge. I want to grow as a player, help the team win trophies, and show that I can be one of the best defenders in the league,” he added.

Kotoko have also bolstered their midfield with the acquisition of Walid Neymar Fuseini, adding further depth to their squad.

With the 2025 GHALCA Top 4 tournament concluded, Kotoko now turn their attention to the Champion of Champions clash against Bibiani GoldStars, set for Sunday, August 31.
