The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has refuted claims that it failed to invite President John Dramani Mahama to its 2025 Annual Conference in Wa.
In a statement, the Association described the reports as false and misleading, clarifying that the President had been formally invited and has accepted to attend as Guest of Honour.
The GBA explained that an informal invitation was extended during a courtesy call in March 2025, followed by a formal letter sent on July 21 and acknowledged by the Presidency on July 29. An acceptance letter was later received on August 1.
The Association further noted that its practice of publicizing initial conference notices before receiving responses from invited guests is consistent with past conferences.
The 2025 Annual Conference is expected to attract key legal personalities, including international guests such as the Chair of the Bar Council of England and Wales.
