Nine people sustained various degrees of injuries in a road crash involving two vehicles on the Kpong–Tema Highway on Friday morning.
The accident, which occurred at Okwenya, involved a Toyota Hiace with registration number GE-9739-24 and a Hyundai H100. Both vehicles were badly damaged in the collision.

Personnel from the Kpong Fire Station responded swiftly to the incident after receiving a distress call at 7:29 a.m.
A rescue team arrived at the scene in minutes to assist with emergency operations.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service, all nine victims had already been rescued and transported to the Akuse Government Hospital and St. Martins Hospital for medical attention before the fire crew arrived.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Somanya Ambulance Service and the Akuse Police, ensuring the swift evacuation of victims and clearance of the highway for traffic flow.

The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, but investigations are underway.
