Thirty-four passengers were injured when a 34-seater KIA Grandbird bus overturned on the Accra-Kumasi Highway at Asuboi early Saturday morning.
The Suhum Municipal Fire Station received a distress call at 2:55 a.m. and rushed a team of seven firefighters, led by STNO II Antwi Forson, to the scene.

Upon arrival, they found the bus lying on its side. The driver, trapped inside, was rescued using extrication equipment, while other passengers had already been taken to the Suhum Government Hospital for treatment.
According to the fire service, the driver sustained serious injuries, while the remaining passengers suffered minor injuries.

The bus was partially damaged, and firefighters cleared the road, restoring safe traffic flow by 4:53 a.m.
This latest accident comes just a day after another crash on the same stretch claimed five lives, intensifying calls from residents and road safety advocates for improved safety measures along the busy highway.
Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution, especially during early morning and night-time travel.
