Gospel musician Obaapa Christy has kept her spirits high despite missing out on nominations at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

Addressing her fans, she urged them not to be concerned about the snub. She noted that while awards and recognition are appreciated, they have never been her primary focus.

Her mission, she explained, has always been to impact souls and spread the message of God’s love rather than pursue worldly recognition.

“…therefore, we encourage all fans not to be troubled by her absence in any of the GMA categories. What is destined for you will always come to you at the appointed time,” she stated.

The gospel artiste said she draws comfort from the unwavering support of her fans, who continue to back her ministry through music.

“We would like to kindly assure everyone that Rev. Obaapa Christy remains deeply committed to the true purpose of her calling, using gospel music as a tool to touch lives, heal the brokenhearted, and lead many people back to God through repentance, hope, and salvation. Her greatest fulfillment is seeing lives transformed through the message carried in her songs,” she added.

Meanwhile, Charterhouse, organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, have dismissed claims of restricting slots for gospel categories, clarifying that all nominations are based strictly on merit and eligibility.
