At least 21 people have sustained injuries in a road accident that occurred at Akuse Junction on the Kpong–Tema Highway.
The accident involved a Toyota Hiace with registration number GE 6374–22 and a Dodge Ram pickup with registration number DV 4363Z–25.
The impact of the crash caused several passengers to be trapped, prompting a swift response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) rescue team from the Kpong Fire Station.
According to the Fire Service, some victims were rescued by bystanders before the arrival of the rescue team.

Personnel from the Ghana Ambulance Service and the Akuse Police were also at the scene to assist with rescue operations and manage traffic flow.
Six of the injured were transported to the Akuse Government Hospital, while others were taken to Kings and Queens Hospital and St. Martin De Porres Hospital.

The cause of the accident is not yet known, but both vehicles sustained significant damage.

Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances that led to the crash.
