2026 WCQ: Otto Addo anticipates tough game against Comoros

Ghana head coach Otto Addo has urged caution ahead of the Black Stars’ final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match, describing Comoros as a disciplined and dangerous opponent.

The decisive clash takes place on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kick-off set for 19:00 GMT. Ghana need just a single point to secure their place at next year’s Mundial.

Speaking to the media ahead of the fixture, Addo highlighted the threat posed by the island nation.

“They’ve been doing good work over the years, and we in Ghana have felt it before. Especially up front, they are very strong. It’s going to be a difficult match.”

Addo also praised the tactical acumen of Comoros’ coach, noting the team’s evolution and versatility.

“They have a really good coach who understands the game and plays with different systems. They are difficult to beat,” he noted.

Despite the warning, Addo remains confident in Ghana’s preparation.

“If we have the right mentality like against Mali, we will beat them,” he said. “We’ve analysed their strengths and weaknesses, and we know what we want to do.”

A victory or draw will see Ghana make their fifth World Cup appearance, having previously competed in Germany (2006), South Africa (2010), Brazil (2014), and Qatar (2022).
