2026 WCQ: NSA assures fans of tight security ahead of Ghana v Mali clash

Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has guaranteed that fans will be safe when Ghana face Mali in their 2026 World Cup qualifier on Monday.

The crucial Matchday 8 encounter is set for September 8 at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 GMT.

Speaking to the press ahead of the game, Mr. Ampofo Ankrah said stringent security measures have been put in place.

“The match will be a very high security game in terms of the number of Police, Military and other support services who will make sure that….everybody are protected so you can be rest assured that you will have maximum security before, during and after the match.”

The Black Stars head into the fixture seeking redemption after a 1-1 draw against Chad in N’Djamena last Thursday.
