The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has strengthened the Black Stars’ technical team with several key appointments aimed at ensuring a strong performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Communications Director Henry Asante Twum confirmed that the new additions will provide the expertise needed to help Ghana achieve its objectives on football’s biggest stage.
Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren and Alain Ravera have joined as assistant coaches, while Jose Daniel Martinez Alfonso will serve as scout and video analyst. Carlos Lozano Romero takes on the role of team physiotherapist, and Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi has been appointed as performance coach.
“Our goal at the World Cup is to make an impact, and we can only achieve that with the best expertise guiding us. We believe these coaches will take us where we want to be,” he stated.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia. Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, 2026, before facing England on June 23 and concluding the group stage against Croatia on June 27.
Ahead of the tournament, coach Otto Addo and his squad will reconvene in March for international friendlies against Austria and Germany as part of their preparations.
