
Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has expressed his gratitude to fans and stakeholders after Ghana secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The four-time African champions sealed their place at the tournament with a hard-fought victory over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium, a result that saw them finish top of Group I and book their fifth consecutive appearance at the global showpiece.
Ayew, who played a pivotal role throughout the qualifiers, contributed directly to 14 goals, scoring seven and providing seven assists.
The qualification marks another milestone for the Leicester City forward, who will be making his third World Cup appearance, having previously featured at Brazil 2014 and Qatar 2022.
Following the team’s qualification, Ayew took to the Black Stars’ official social media pages to share a heartfelt message, thanking Ghanaians, his teammates, and the technical team for their unwavering support throughout the campaign.
The 32-year-old assured that the team will strive to make the country proud at the Mundial.
Ghana will discover their group-stage opponents when the official World Cup draw is held on December 5.
