British-born Ghanaian performance specialist Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi has been named Performance Coach of the Black Stars as Ghana step up preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Peasah Paa Kwesi will be responsible for overseeing physical conditioning, player optimisation, workload management and overall performance enhancement throughout the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
A familiar face within the national team setup, he has previously worked with the Black Stars when called upon, earning recognition for his contribution behind the scenes.
His appointment is part of a wider technical expansion following Ghana’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup, as the Ghana Football Association seeks to strengthen the support structure around the team.
The performance coach is expected to work closely with the medical and technical staff to ensure players maintain peak fitness levels during both preparations and competition, particularly in light of the demands posed by a congested international calendar.
Peasah Paa Kwesi will operate under the leadership of head coach Otto Addo, with the Black Stars aiming to make a strong impression at the global showpiece.
The senior national team is expected to regroup in March for a series of international fixtures against Austria and Germany as part of their World Cup build-up.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia. After exiting at the group stage of the 2014 and 2022 World Cups in Brazil and Qatar, respectively, the Black Stars will be hoping for a stronger showing in 2026.
