Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has expressed confidence in the Black Queens’ ability to qualify for and compete at the Women’s World Cup.

The team has been drawn into Group D of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, alongside Cameroon, Cape Verde, and Mali.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the next round, with semifinalists earning a spot at the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Following the draw, Okraku praised the team’s talent and emphasized the importance of support in achieving success.

“We will want to be at the World Cup, and I believe Black Queens have the qualities to be at the World Cup. We have the right technical team to support the girls, and the government is ready to support the girls.

“If it is about pressure, there is pressure everywhere, but what is important is how you react to situations.”

He added that while pressure is inevitable, it is how the team responds that matters.

“The head coach is very experienced to guide the girls, and I have no doubt whatsoever that we will compete and make it to the World Cup,” he added.

For the group stage, the Black Queens will be based in Fes, Morocco.
