The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League Matchday 7 fixtures produced drama and decisive results across the country’s major stadia.
On Friday, Heart of Lions kicked off the weekend in style with a commanding 3-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars at the Kpando Sports Stadium. Goals from Kwadwo Obeng Junior, Michael Ephson, and Anthony Owusu sealed a comprehensive win for the hosts.
At the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, Aduana FC continued their strong start to the campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over Dreams FC. Daouda Sidibé struck late in the 85th minute to hand the two-time champions all three points.
Medeama SC also earned a vital 1-0 win on Sunday, edging Swedru All Blacks courtesy of Kamaradini Mamudu’s 73rd-minute effort at the Akoon Park.
Elsewhere, FC Samartex maintained their impressive form with a 2-0 victory over Hohoe United at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena. Clinton Kumi netted twice in the second half to secure the points for the Timber Boys.
Karela United stunned Bechem United 2-0 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium. First-half goals from Abdul-Raman Yaya and Bless Ege ensured a comfortable win for the home side.
In Accra, Hearts of Oak were held to a thrilling 2-2 draw by Bibiani GoldStars at the Accra Sports Stadium. Mawuli Wayo gave the Phobians a first-half lead, but Kumi Attah’s quickfire brace in the 52nd and 63rd minutes turned the game around for GoldStars. However, George Paaku restored parity for Hearts in the 71st minute to salvage a point.
At the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Nations FC deepened Eleven Wonders’ struggles with a 3-2 victory. Emmanuel Annor was the star of the show, scoring a sensational hat-trick, while Frank Awere and Daniel Lomotey found the net for the visitors.
Young Apostles were forced to share the spoils with Berekum Chelsea after a 1-1 draw at the Wenchi Sports Stadium. The hosts conceded an own goal before Issah Huseine equalised in the 71st minute.
Meanwhile, the fixture between Vision FC and Asante Kotoko was postponed due to the Porcupine Warriors’ involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup.
After seven rounds of matches, Medeama SC, Aduana FC, Heart of Lions, and FC Samartex occupy the top four positions, while Dreams FC, Eleven Wonders, and Basake Holy Stars sit in the relegation zone.
